 -  VERY CAREFULLY RENOVATED APARTMENT IN DIOCLETIAN'S PALACE IN SPLIT
Very carefully renovated (in co-ordination with the conservators), this spacious apartment is set literally within the 1700 year old stone walls of the Roman emperor Diocletian's palace! A piece of history, perfect harmony of ancient and Romanesque architecture and the livelihood of a modern town.

A substantial terrace provides glorious views of the sea and the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage town centre with its beautiful St. Domnius bell tower.

The apartment is constructed on two floors, and is in a high roh-bau stage. It is very tastefully organized and comprises two bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a storage room, and one large bathroom.

About Split:
The 'capital' of Dalmatia, a beautiful ancient town, 1700 years old (UNESCO protected), known for its lovely architecture and atmosphere. Only 30 minutes drive form the Split Airport, and about four hours from Dubrovnik.

Furthermore, Split is the economic and administrative center of Middle Dalmatia, with about 200,000 inhabitants. It is also the jumping-off point for exploration of the coast and islands of the beautiful Croatian Adriatic. The site was first settled when, at the end of the third century AD, the Roman Emperor Diocletian built his palace here. The importance of Diocletian's Palace far transcends local significance because of its level of preservation and the buildings of succeeding historical periods built within its walls, which today form the very heart of old Split. Split's growth became particularly rapid in the 7th century, when the inhabitants of the destroyed Greek and Roman metropolis Salonae (present-day Solin) took refuge within its walls. The lovely ruins of Solin outside the city can still be explored today. In the Middle Ages, Split was an autonomous commune. Many of Split's historical and cultural buildings can be found within the walls of Diocletian's Palace.
